Binary Blitz is a slow-paced, classroom-friendly game that helps you practise binary addition and subtraction.

Binary sums fall from the top of the screen. Copy the calculation into your book, work it out using binary rules, then type your answer in binary before it hits the danger line.

Choose from three modes:

Addition – practise carrying in base 2

Subtraction – practise borrowing in base 2

Mixed – a bit of both for a challenge

Addition (base 2)

0 + 0 = 0 0 + 1 = 1 1 + 0 = 1 1 + 1 = 0 (carry 1) 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 (carry 1)

Subtraction (base 2)

0 − 0 = 0 1 − 0 = 1 1 − 1 = 0 0 − 1 = 1 (borrow 1 = 10₂ = 2₁₀)
